DEODORANTS

Deodorant vs Antiperspirant — What's the Difference?

  • Deodorant: Neutralises body odour by targeting odour-causing bacteria — it does NOT reduce sweating. Contains antibacterial ingredients (Triclosan, natural alternatives like Baking Soda, Zinc) and fragrance
  • Antiperspirant: Reduces sweating by temporarily blocking sweat glands using Aluminium salts (Aluminium Chlorohydrate, Aluminium Zirconium). Also contains odour-neutralising ingredients. The most effective choice for Singapore's heat
  • Combination (Antiperspirant + Deodorant): The most widely available format — controls both sweat and odour. The standard product sold in supermarkets and pharmacies in Singapore
  • Natural Deodorant: Aluminium-free formulas using natural odour-neutralisers (Magnesium Hydroxide, Baking Soda, activated charcoal). Works for odour but does not reduce sweating — requires adjustment period of 2–4 weeks

Deodorant Formats — Which Suits You Best?

  • Roll-On: A ball applicator that rolls liquid or gel formula onto the underarm. The most popular format in Singapore — precise application, dries quickly, and suits all underarm skin types
  • Spray: Fast-applying aerosol or pump spray — convenient for all-over freshness and quick morning routines. Less precise than roll-on but faster
  • Stick: A solid or semi-solid stick formula — the most widely used format globally. Provides a smooth, dry application with no waiting time
