Cosmetic-Grade vs Craft Glitter — Important Safety Note
Not all glitter is safe for skin. Always use cosmetic-grade or body-safe glitter — made from rounded particles that don't damage skin or eyes. Craft glitter has sharp edges that can cause micro-cuts and serious eye damage. All glitter products at Sa Sa Singapore are cosmetic-grade and skin-safe.
Types of Colour Glitter Products
- Loose Glitter Powder: Ultra-fine or chunky particles applied with a glitter glue base or damp brush — maximum customisability and intensity
- Glitter Gel: Pre-mixed glitter in a clear or coloured gel — easy to apply, better adhesion, safer for the eye area
- Pressed Glitter / Eyeshadow: Highly pigmented glitter compressed into an eyeshadow pan — easiest for beginners with less fallout
- Shimmer Pigment: Ultra-fine micro-shimmer for a reflective glow effect — subtler than glitter, applicable on the entire face and body
How to Apply Glitter Safely and Effectively
- Always use a cosmetic glitter glue or sticky base before applying loose glitter — prevents fallout and ensures lasting wear
- For the eye area: use a damp flat brush to press (not swipe) glitter onto the lid — pressing prevents particles from scattering
- For face and body: mix shimmer pigment with clear body gel or apply with a soft brush
- To remove: use micellar water or oil cleanser first to break down the adhesive, then rinse — never dry-rub glitter off skin or eyes
- Occasions: K-pop concerts, music festivals, CNY, Deepavali, Halloween, weddings, and photo shoots
