Understanding Acne — The Root Causes
Acne is not caused by a single factor — it's the result of four intersecting issues: excess sebum production, abnormal skin cell shedding (which clogs pores), Cutibacterium acnes bacteria, and inflammation. Different acne types are caused by different combinations of these factors, which is why targeted treatment matters more than one-size-fits-all skincare.
In Singapore, heat, sweat, humidity, heavy sunscreen, and hormonal fluctuations can all worsen the acne cycle — making a consistent, climate-appropriate routine essential.
Shop Acne Care by Product Type
- Acne Cleanser: Low pH, gentle foaming or gel cleansers with BHA (Salicylic Acid), AHA (Glycolic), or antibacterial Tea Tree — cleanse thoroughly without over-stripping. The foundation of any acne routine
- Acne Toner / Exfoliant: BHA toners with 1–2% Salicylic Acid applied after cleansing to penetrate pores, dissolve excess sebum, and reduce blackheads and whiteheads
- Acne Serum: Niacinamide serum for sebum control, pore minimising, and post-acne mark fading — one of the most important all-day acne actives
- Spot Treatment: Targeted acne patches (hydrocolloid), Benzoyl Peroxide gel, or Salicylic Acid gel applied directly to active breakouts to accelerate healing and prevent spreading
- Acne Moisturiser: Oil-free, non-comedogenic gel or water-based moisturiser — hydration is essential even for oily, acne-prone skin to prevent rebound oil production
Ingredients
• Calmine and ice crystal tomato extract: effectively cleanse acne, soothe the skin, remove excess oil, improve imperfections, and stabilize the skin.
• Olive fruit oil: moisturizes and nourishes the skin.
Usage
